We will also discuss questions you may have regarding employing overseas staff and will provide you with an IEA with the standard terms and conditions backed by Preston Russell Law. We will follow up the meeting by contacting your current and past employees for their feedback.

Step 4: If you successfully complete the assessment, we will issue you with an agreement to locate staff for you. If you are unsuccessful, we will make recommendations for you to alter your practices before we will place workers with you.

Step 5: We will seek staff on your behalf and will provide you with options of employees, with CV's who we believe are suitable for the position. If you are satisfied we will organize an interview for you if they are local or will provide a selection of CV’s of pre-screened overseas applicants. We will also take care of the immigration matters necessary to get your employee onto your farm as soon as possible.

Step 6: If the employee is from overseas then we will provide pre-employment training and orientation before dropping them off on the farm.

Step 7: Once staff are employed you will be required to sign off weekly time sheets which you will need to forward quarterly to us.

Step 8: We will facilitate 2 performance reviews per year to assess performance and identify training needs. We will provide a standard assessment template for bonuses if applicable. This can be used to provide a basis for salary reviews at the end of the season.

Our fee for overseas workers covers recruitment and selection, contracts and visa costs, training, orientation and transport to the farm, wet-weather gear, 2 weeks of food, bedding, AGITO training, GHW training days, performance reviews, orientation packs and ongoing support.

NZ exports milk overseas

New Zealand’s largest dairy company, Fonterra, earns about 20% of the country’s total export income.

Generally the largest farms and herds are in the South Island where there has been most growth in dairy farming over the past ten years.
